MW Chow, Co-Founder & Principal Coach

Everything that MW Chow has done in his career to date leads to becoming an effective Professional Business Coach/Facilitator.

Starting off as an IT professional upon graduation, he quickly discovered his passion & gift is in helping others develop themselves, he took the plunge to start his first business 2 years later, providing Professional Recruitment Consulting & Teambuilding services, his clientele included corporations such as Lucent Technologies, Ernst & Young , Andersen Consulting, Hong Leong Management Services & others.

4 years later in 1999, he became a licensed facilitator with an international provider of business education, providing one-to-one facilitation programs to mostly family owned small & medium sized businesses in the area of leadership, management & sales. (The principal firm, established in 1960 in Texas, US, was and still is one of the largest provider of such programs in the world.) Within 12 months, at the age of 30, he was appointed train-the-trainer for Malaysia, to help fresh facilitators establish themselves.

In 2002, MW became a licensed coach with the biggest business coaching services firm in the world where he quickly rose to become the second most senior coach in Asia Pacific, winning their best newcomer for Asia Pacific award in his first year, inducted into their president’s club in 2008 and finally the chairman’s circle in 2013.

He decided to strike out on his own from 2014, founding Familybiz Works with his wife, SC Lee.

MW is also a trained Satir Therapist, a family therapy methodology pioneered by the late Virginia Satir, whose groundbreaking work in the field of conjoint family therapy form the foundation of NLP as we know it today. With this foundation, he contributes his spare time to work with young adults (read more  here ) on goal-setting and career planning, bringing out the best in people he work with.

Working with business owners since 1999 has given MW an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities that exist for businesses in Malaysia. Today, he’s combined & localized the best practices he has mastered through working with dozens of businesses into the most effective mentoring program available for local businesses.

SC Lee, Co-Founder, Business Development

SC Lee started her career in corporate banking where she was one of the fastest rising star, trusted with handling a portfolio of RM3 billion in her early twenties, including key conglomerates accounts such as Usaha Tegas group(Astro, Maxis), Hong Leong group(HL Industries, Hume Group, Hong Leong Financial Group), DRB-Hicom, Berjaya Group and Lafarge Malaysia.

Her impressive track record lead to her being recruited by a foreign bank, where she was tasked with building their SMI/SME financing business, building accounts such as Bonia, Perfect Foods Manufacturing, Brahims and many others, most are family owned businesses.

Upon achieving her Masters degree in IT, which she did part-time, she was headhunted by an MNC IT company to be a key account manager handling the financial industry, where she achieved her quota and qualified for their incentive trip in her first year.

At that point in time, her husband, MW Chow's coaching practice took off and she decided to take the entrepreneurial journey.

Her exposure and experience in banking/financing and working with SMI/SME's and family businesses proved to be invaluable in refining Familybiz Work's programs.
